Vancouver food guide

Traveling to Vancouver, BC soon? Looking for awesome food places to check out? I have compiled a list of the best food in Vancouver to check out while on a budget. These are a few my favorite food spots (in no particular order) that are all deliciously satisfying! Be sure to click on the name of each location to check out more in-depth reviews!

Japadog

The iconic Japadog was on my list to check out since it was all over the media. It was basically a decked out hot dog. Worth trying? Yes, if you love hot dogs. If you are not fond of hot dogs, I would pass on this or perhaps opt for Costco hotdogs for a budget friendly meal. To be perfectly honest though, there are TONS of hot dogs all around Vancouver! If Japadog does not float your boat, finding other options will not be difficult.

Pho Edmonds

I ate here several times during my trip to Vancouver. What can I say? Love me some cheap and delicious Vietnamese cuisine! The portions here were the perfect size and were very mouth watery. The staff were super friendly also!

Scoozis Bar & Grill

American style brunch with a Mediterranean twist and Greek vibes. Love it. I recommend you treat yourself a tad and order the salmon Benedict. You won’t regret it. It comes with a side of fruits and potatoes!

Hot Pie Pizza

Cheap pizza, big portions, and great taste. You can’t go wrong with Hot Pie Pizza! It is the definition of “Hole in the wall.”

Caritas 9 Coffee Roasters

This cafe was just a few blocks from our AIRBNB located in Burnaby, so just thinking about it brings back many feels. I loved the modern appeal to the cafe and the selection of pastries/drinks is nice. Prices were standard but the look and feel of the cafe gives off a elegant vibe!

Yaggers Bar

Nice bar with a wide selection of food. They even make their own house sauces! Win Win! Fun fact: Eric andΒ I stopped by here to watch the Warriors finals (go warriors!).

Shiny Tea

I was drawn in by their milk tea flavored frozen yogurt. I got the Roasted Tie Guan Yin Tea flavor which was TO DIE FOR. I mean…I have never even heard of such a flavor but it tasted like a typical black milk tea drink in frozen yogurt form. It is located in the Chinatown district so it will be a nice resting stop if you happen to be exploring Chinatown.

It was so BOMB I even came back the next day!

Other worthy places to check out:

  • Buddha-Full
  • Earnest Ice Cream
  • Saj & Co

I hope you found this post insightful! I truly had a remarkable experience trying all the different foods in Vancouver. I am sure that there are TONS and TONS of options to choose from. If you happen to check any of these places out, great!

Here are a few more photos of my recent Vancouver trip. It was an EPIC journey that I took with Eric, who was down for seriously anything. With a notebook in my hand and list of things to do, I set out to make this a trip to remember.

Thank you for reading!

Happy Munching.
