Interested in how to make your own granola at home? I love making my own granola because I can use it as a topping for all my smoothies and cereals. It also makes for a great car ride snack! It is one of the easiest thing to make and will save you tons of money. Once you start making it, you’ll be hooked! This specific recipe calls for very few ingredients and is on the healthier side because there are no added sugars. Lets get started!
INGREDIENTS (to make bulk amount)
- 4 cups of quaker oats or oats of your choice
- Sea salt
- Canola oil nonstick spray
- Baking pan
Measure out oats into a bowl. Add in cinnamon (as much as your heart desires) and a dash of salt. Sprinkle on some nutmeg and mix the oats until they are homogenous.
Spray your baking pan with a thin layer of canola oil and pour the oats in – if your pan is too small, you may have to toast the oats in intervals!
Spread the oats evenly and place in oven or toaster oven for 20 minutes. Routinely mix the oats around every 5 minutes or so in order to avoid burning. Depending on your toaster, you may have to toast the oats longer or less. Again, keep an eye out for burning! I have burned my oats far too many times to not warn this!
Take oats out and allow to cool down before placing in storage jars, or adding to your favorite smoothies. I like to top my acai bowls with a nice layer of granola. Store up to one month but I doubt they will last that long!
