What is Acai?
Acai is one of the healthiest berries that you can add to your diet. It is full of fiber, antioxidants, and has been shown to have immune stimulating and energy boosting abilities. It may also promote skin health and aid digestion. Acai also add great color to your smoothies! I love using a mixture of Acai puree with acai powder. Curious how to make easy homemade acai bowl? - 2 cups frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, + blackberries)
- 1 Acai puree packet – get it here
- 1 ½ Almond milk or soy milk – get it here
- ½ tablespoon Acai Powder – get it here
- ½ – 1 banana
- ½ cup Rolled oats (toasted) or granola of your choice – get it here
*You will also need a blender of some sort. I use a bullet blender, which works fine for me. If you have a bigger smoothie blender than that would be better.
Begin by thawing the acai puree packet in warm water for 5 minutes. You may need to thaw longer depending on how frozen your packet it. If you are in a rush for time, considering placing your frozen packet under running warn water. Once thawed, place into blender along with your frozen berries + banana.
Start by adding 1 cup of your milk of choice. Blend until smooth. Add in remaining liquid if blending becomes difficult.
We want a smooth smooth – not too watery and not too thick. Once you have happy with the blend, pour out the smoothie into a bowl and layer with desired toppings. You can also create an acai cup by layering layers of oats and acai!
